This forward and reverse ac- tion will respond as quickly as you can pull up and release this hand lever. When you wish to go forward again ,release t he hand lever and the trac- tor will stop its reverse travel and start forward, and you're on your way again. The Mini-Dozer will slow to a stop and start again in reve rse. While tra- veling forward, if you wish to go into reverse, just pull up on this hand lever. A hand lever on the l eft side o f the tractor completely con- trols this quick forward and reverse action. By pulling th is lev er completely to the rear,a full brake action is applied to the right track an d it stops completely, allowing you to glide a- round in the shortest t urn possib le - much shorter a turn than that possible with any conventional wheel tractor or snowmobile! Reverse is almost an instantaneous movement. Pulling this leve r further back will slow the right track even more and your right turn becomes much shorte r. While traveling, slowly pulling back on,say, the right lever, causes power to be released from the right track and the Mini-Dozer will smooth- ly begin a r ight turn. A feather touch forward on both levers causes power to be applied to each track and the Mini-Dozer moves smartly forward. Each of the two levers controls it s own separate track. Rather, each "web- foot" track (b ecaus e there are so many) receives much less weight and therefore the Mini-Dozer literally "floats " along th e ground with barely a trace of where it has been. This wide traction area also allows the weight of the Mini-Dozer to be spread over a much large r area-no longer do you have to concentra te the»weight over the rear wheels which dig up the turf. Compare this to th e fe w squa re inches permitted by regular rear wheel driven tractors. This track hugs the ground over more than 500 square inches. This type of track gives th e ulti- mate in traction, for now you a re replacing the conven- tional "cleated" tires with a track made of many indi- vidual "web-feet". By the use of a "life-tim e" steel track the Mini- Dozer can travel over almost any terrain without f ear of tire punct ures. Its accomplishment s range from bulldozin g top soil and mowing lawns i n the summer to pushing snow and "snowmobiling" in th e winter. Its uniquene ss comes fro m its ability to do many more jobs around the home and farm than could have ever been expected of conventional rear wheel driven tractors. The Mini-Dozer is a totally new concept in small garde n tracto rs. I contacted him,( this was before email), but I never got a reply.Than k you for your interest in the revolutionary new Mini-Dozer. ![]() They told me they had sold off the casting business to a former employee. I am thinking about cleaning it up, and making a desk lamp out of it.Ībout 30 years ago, I contacted CF Struck, and inquired about the castings they used to offer. It's an interesting project, but painfully slow, compared to a portable bandsaw. The only issue I have encountered with using mine is finding 8" blades-I resorted to a carbide drill, and shortening 12" blades. I lost my saw in a fire, but found another in a pile of junk at an estate sale, recently. I've also scanned an article from a magazine, with a nice little stand for the saw. They include a fixture to cut the gears, but chain and sprockets were also an option. We built a bunch of these power saws in a college class, many years ago, and (being a packrat), I kept the original instructions. ![]() I ran across this forum, while looking for some information on stamping numbers for another project.
